Lorraine McGill is the visionary behind the development called Sixty West in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. In fact, it was her idea, her dream. With a deep connection to the land and her community and a creative design vision for the town, Lorraine wanted to build a new “old fashioned” community. One that offered beautifully designed homes, an abundance of surrounding nature and the conveniences of a thoughtfully planned retail and service area. One that would become a welcoming and friendly neighbourhood, a gathering place, a destination and a home for families.

With her husband and partner Doug, she started the home building company Tehama Homes in 2004. An interior designer, Lorraine designed interiors and architecture, and oversaw build management. It was during their time building new homes that she started to think bigger.. To what was possible for Sylvan Lake.
